Do you recognize this catalog or stamp set? The catalog is the first one I received in 1995 the year I became a demonstrator. The stamp set is “Dreams and Dragons” which was the 1996 convention set and still a favorite of mine after all these years.

I’m remembering my start as a demonstrator this week while I’m in Las Vegas attending the bi-annual Stampin’Up! convention – On Stage. I don’t go every time but this year is special as Stampin’Up! is celebrating 30 years in business.  While a lot has changed in the past 23 years (no more cutting the rubber around the stamps for example), many of the reasons why I joined are still the same. I love to craft with people and see the joy on their faces when they create their own masterpiece. I enjoy learning the newest techniques and playing with new tools.  Plus I still get excited when I get the new Stampin’Up! catalog and idea book in my hands (Friday night!!). I wonder what will be retired this year and what new colors will be revealed?

Then there’s the swaps. I brought dozens of cards to trade with others and I’m excited to bring back new ideas to share. Check back next week when I post my favorites on this blog.
